New Shooters

Do you own a hand gun?  Are you unsure of your skills?  Would you like to get some real world experience in improving your hand gun skills and get some friendly encouragement?  We welcome shooters of all skill levels, from beginner to expert.  The best way to improve is to practice, practice, and practice.  We have a friendly coaching environment.  We share our knowledge and have fun improving ourselves with fellow shooters.  We share our sport.  If any of this interest you, come watch a match.  I guarantee you will not be a spectator long.  You shoot your own pace, in squads of 5 to 8 shooters.  We just have a lot of fun practicing safe gun handling skills.  Come check us out.

Summer is Here!

“Do you understand the course of fire?”  “If so…” would like to shoot some steel – bang and clang - and really get to know your gun handling skills? – join the Antrim Sand Pit Shooters.   Northern Michigan’s (only) USPSA action pistol club, now “…load and make ready” for our Fourth season with our first match set for April 17, 2010.  2010 Schedule is Every Third Saturday, except November.

“Are your ready” to join the USPSA/IPSC run’n gun action hosted by the Chain O’Lakes Sportsman’s Club, and the ASPS?  Our Team is on “Standby”, anxiously waiting for our first work bee, practice session, and first match of the spring.

When you hear the “Start Signal” you will engage targets in a challenging array, testing your skills in accuracy, power and speed.  Practical competition is free-style.  In essence, the competitive problem is posed in general and the shooter is permitted the freedom to solve it in the manner he/she considers best within the limitations of the course of fire.

“If you are finished, unload and show clear.”  Now, “If clear….” you understand and you are ready to join the action, “….Hammer down, holster” your gun.  Come join the Action Gun Club of the North, the Antrim Sand Pit Shooters.  “Range is Clear.”

As a shooter, who just completed a stage of targets, you catch your breath, look quickly at the tough one you messed up on, and follow the Range Officer and Score Keeper, calling out your hits…..and misses.

We promise more steel, more new challenges every match.   If you ready to hear the “range commands” yourself and feel the excitement, you will not want to miss the action.  We shoot USPSA/IPSC events the Third Saturday of Every Month – starting April 17, 2010.  For full details on shooting, work bee’s and schedules, visit www.colsc.org or call Eldon Mc Pherson at 231-533-8254.
